Real Numbers ‘Performs’ – a collection of live performances and radio sessions.

Track 1 coming from Evan Funk Davies’ program on WFMU and features an exclusive original composition ‘Around the Arms’. After that a beautiful version of ‘Up & About’ from a performance for Madison Wisconsin’s Isthmus newspaper. Track 3 showcases a ripping take of Real Numbers ‘classic’ ‘Na Na Ooh’ from KEXP. Closing out the side we go all the way back to 2013 for ‘Boats & Cars’ from Minneapolis’ 'Off the Record' program on Radio K.

Side 2 opens with a cover of Glasgow’s Golden Dawn (Sarah Records) recorded in a record store basement featuring new synth player Sophie Durbin. ‘Ordeal’ was taken from a performance at St. Paul’s Turf Club.

Finally Real Numbers’ only performance at the now closed, mythical DIY venue Secret Service. The set recorded very late in the evening after stellar performances by Argentina’s Los Cripis, Ft. Worth’s Fungi Girls and Minneapolis’ own Velveteens.

This isn’t a record review. Or maybe it is. But I fell asleep while listening to this album and had a wonderful dream: I was riding my bike through a fictional version of the city where I was born. You know what I mean- familiar, but strangely new? I rode through predawn darkness. The sun began to rise and made the city glow. Two buildings stood out, a liquor store and a pasta factory.
